Art Basel Paris 2026: dates and practical information
Art Basel opens to the public from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 October 2026, beneath the glass roof of the Grand Palais, from 11am to 7pm. It is preceded by days for trade and collectors, then a public vernissage on the afternoon of Thursday, 22 October.
What you'll see
More than 200 exhibitors from over 40 countries have been announced. The fair is organised into sectors:
- Galeries, the heart of the fair, with more than 180 galleries showing modern, post-war and contemporary art;
- Emergence, for young galleries and artists to watch;
- Premise, a dozen more curatorial presentations, created when the fair moved to the Grand Palais.
Another highlight is a public programme that spills out of the fair and into emblematic venues across the capital, in partnership with several Parisian institutions. Allow half a day for the fair, and the rest for wandering.
One week, many happenings
Art Basel Paris is never experienced in isolation. Around the fair, exhibitions, openings and satellite events animate galleries, museums and hotels. The easiest approach is to alternate a big moment at the Grand Palais with a neighbourhood stroll. The 11th arrondissement and the Marais, with their galleries and studios, are ideal for this.
From Hôtel Fabric to the Grand Palais
In the heart of the 11th arrondissement, Hôtel Fabric is a handy base for the week. Line 9 connects the neighbourhood to Franklin D. Roosevelt, a few minutes' walk from the Grand Palais: allow about twenty minutes, with no changes.
Back in the neighbourhood, there's plenty to fill the evening: bars, restaurants and spots where you can talk over the day's discoveries. For dinner ideas, our restaurant selection is a good place to start.
Book your stay during Art Basel Paris
Hotels also fill up quickly during fair week. If you're visiting Paris between 20 and 25 October, it's best to book now. Book direct on the Hôtel Fabric website for the best availability.
