Categories : Exhibition, published on : 3/11/22
As part of its cultural program focused on women artists, the Musée du Luxembourg presents its new exhibition "Pioneers. Artists of a new genre in the Paris of the Roaring Twenties" dedicated to these women artists who created in all fields and without any limits, during the Roaring Twenties in Paris.
Paintings, photographs, literary works, sculptures, a choice of creations carefully selected to highlight the important role of women in the artistic movements of modernity. Tamara de Lempicka, Sonia Delaunay, Tarsila do Amaral and Chana Orloff are among the "new women", the first women to enter the art schools that were previously reserved for men and also to be recognized as artists.
They were the first women to take control of their lives, to choose their spouses or not to marry. Their independence is manifested in their revolutionary creations, which influence a great number of artists today.
