We Are Here - The Free Urban Art Exhibition at the Petit Palais

Categories : Exhibition, published on : 8/16/26

Following the triumph of its first edition in 2024 — over 600,000 visitors — the Petit Palais is back with a second instalment of its exhibition dedicated to urban art. "WE ARE [still] HERE" takes over the Salle Concorde and part of the museum's permanent collection galleries, confirming street art's lasting place within Paris's major cultural institutions.

Curated by Mehdi Ben Cheikh, gallerist and founder of Galerie Itinerrance, the exhibition brings together nearly 200 works by 75 French and international artists, with pride of place given to the current French scene, in dialogue with international creators.

A continuation of the first edition

The exhibition picks up directly where "We Are Here" left off: works by Seth and Inti, created for the first edition, have since joined the museum's permanent collection. Street art is no longer just passing through the Petit Palais — it's at home there. Also worth noting, outside the museum's walls: until 28 September, Seth's monumental installation Marianne rêve occupies the colonnade of the Palais-Bourbon, visible from the square.

A dialogue between tradition and modernity

As with the first edition, the exhibition sets urban works in conversation with the museum's classical masterpieces — a bold pairing of 19th-century heritage and contemporary creation that invites visitors to see both with fresh eyes.

A nod to historic struggles

The title carries forward the spirit of the original: a claim to legitimacy for street art, long dismissed as vandalism before establishing itself as a major artistic movement in its own right. The exhibition continues to explore themes of inequality, civil rights and identity, championed by committed artists who use their work to give voice to minority communities.

Street art lovers won't want to miss this new edition, free to visit at the Petit Palais this summer. Make the most of your stay in Paris to explore the city's artistic riches. We look forward to welcoming you at Hotel FABRIC!
